Varicosities are dilated small superficial veins that become visible under the skin, without necessarily being palpable. They can become very sensitive to touch and most people are incommodated by their appearance. They are simple to treat using a sclerosing agent injected either directly in the dilated vein or in the feeding vein (sclerotherapy).
