Varicosities are dilated small superficial veins that become visible under the skin, without necessarily being palpable. They can become very sensitive to touch and most people are incommodated by their appearance. Sclerotherapy, which involves injecting a sclerosing agent into a vein, is one possible treatment; suitability and outcomes vary.
